Times story Friday worth a look
Friday's New York Times has an interesting story we could localize. The piece discusses how -- in a number of communities -- the illegal population has gone seriously underground because of the new vigor for a "crackdown." The story is datelined from Waukegan, Ill.

This article brought up two interesting story ideas.The "crackdown" forcing the illegal population to go into hiding and causing them to fear leaving their house is the main idea for the story, but the note about the economic effect it had on certain restaurants might be something we could explore. I'm not sure how we could go about finding illegal immigrants and getting them to talk, but if we could locate a few restaurants or local shops that have seen business drop because of the crackdown on illegal immigrants, that might be an interesting, local story. Just a thought.
